Overview

Curious about Portland's history with railroads, fires, wars, famous poets and Hollywood producers? Join us for a Walk Through Time! This tour begins on Commercial Street and continues for 2 hours through the historic Old Port, downtown and waterfront areas, sharing highlights of Portland's history since 1632.

Some of the locations we may feature on your tour include; the lobster statue, the home of Henry Wadsworth-Longfellow and his place of worship, the Eastern Cemetery, the Abyssinian Church, the U.S. Customs House and more.

***Tour duration is two "ish" hours, based on guest engagement and pace of the group. Planning on 2.5 hours for arriving early to check-in and make it back to your vehicle post tour is recommended.

Mike was the best!!! He knew the city inside out, was a big foodie, and delivered history to us with great humor(also covid compliant!). You can tell he deeply loved the city and wanted to share that with us travelers. high recommend this fun tour to start the day!! and then follow his suggestions on where to eat! :)

Mike was a wealth of knowledge and took us to see so many of the great places in Portland. He also recommended terrific restaurants. My husband and I enjoyed it very much. Our 13, 11 and 9 year olds - not so much. Word of caution: Prepare appropriately for the weather - it was HOT mid-August and we lacked enough water, hats and sunscreen. Also, use the facilities beforehand - no stops with toilets.
