Curious about Portland's history with railroads, fires, wars, famous poets and Hollywood producers? Join us for a Walk Through Time! This tour begins on Commercial Street and continues for 2 hours through the historic Old Port, downtown and waterfront areas, sharing highlights of Portland's history since 1632.

Some of the locations we may feature on your tour include; the lobster statue, the home of Henry Wadsworth-Longfellow and his place of worship, the Eastern Cemetery, the Abyssinian Church, the U.S. Customs House and more.

***Tour duration is two "ish" hours, based on guest engagement and pace of the group. Planning on 2.5 hours for arriving early to check-in and make it back to your vehicle post tour is recommended.

A great way to see and hear about the area and local history. Our guide, Mike, was very knowledgeable and gave great insights. The whole tour moved at a steady but easy pace. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and passion for Portland.

Eight close friends spent a weekend in Portland and took the walking tour with Mike. Charming, funny, and extremely knowledgeable, he made an interesting tour, a delightful one. A must do!!

We spent a few glorious days walking around Portland and decided we needed to know more about its history. So, we signed up for this history tour. Mike, and I'm sure all of the guides, was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and thought not a native, passionate/proud about the city's history. We highly recommend this tour.

One of the quirky things about locals, wherever that localness is, is that we so often say, "i'll get to that someday" "i'll try that some time" and it ends up being the visitors "from away" who instead become more knowledgeable about the area! Happily we have a mix of knowledgeable natives and invested folks like Mike who have chosen Maine as their home away from home on our team.
