What To Expect

Arkansas River Tours

You will arrive are out Canon City location, check in with our friendly reservation staff, meet your guide for the day, be outfitted with necessary rafting gear, go through an in depth safety orientation and then hop on a van or bus for a short 5-10 min ride to the river put in

Royal Gorge Bridge and Park

Once you arrive at the river you will be given specific instructions by your guide and then hit the river for an amazing adventure. You will float through the world famous Royal Gorge! Amazing views of the Royal Gorge Bridge and amazing whitewater on this trip. This is the premiere trip on the Arkansas River!

Jack our guide was personable and professional in all respects. Safety was emphasized and we felt quite comfortable. The water was low but that made this trip a technical run that we all enjoyed. Jack pointed out all there was to see and he obviously enjoys his work. Your family will enjoy this trip, I will be bringing more of our out of state friends to whitewater raft.

My husband and I made a trip to Colorado with the sole purpose of rafting. I had originally booked the intermediate trip but due to low water levels (which we were informed of well in advance!) we decided to do the full day Royal Gorge trip. I had never rafted before and was a little nervous if an advanced trip was the way to start. Our guide Jack was SO great. His safety talk was thorough and made me feel confident that no matter the circumstances, we would be OK. It was a blast. Jack was a true professional and expert and made our trip what it was. With it being late in the season, we were the only 2 on our raft and he perfectly guided us through all the rapids and gave us a great tour of the Royal Gorge. Our lunch was great! Fresh cut fruit and hearty sandwiches and homemade cookies for dessert. We cannot wait to raft again when the water is higher in the spring. Even with low water, our trip was amazing and we felt like the whole day trip was well worth the cost. We plan on returning and will absolutely choose Arkansas River Tours again and request Jack as our guide.
