We visited Adventure Island yesterday. Upon arrival, the sign said two slides were closed. It turned out only 4 slides were open:. Colossal Curl. Aruba Tuba, Calypso Coaster, and Solar Vortex. Later they closed Calypso Coaster and Aruba Tuba and opened Rip Tide. Vanish Point. Water Moccasin, and the Caribbean Corkscrew were closed all day. We did enjoy the slides we were able to go on. Lines were probably longer than expected for a weekday because so much was closed. Several staff said this was because of staffing shortages.
The wave pool had no waves all day because of a mechanical failure. There was no signage about this at the entrance or the attraction. I had to inquire from a life guard. This was particularly annoying on top of the ride closures.
Also, one fork of the Lazy River as closed. There were not nearly enough tubes in the lazy River, but there were a bunch in the closed fork no one could access.
We bought all day dining, but only one restaurant was open, consequently the lines for food were long and slow. Food was mediocre. Most kiosks were also closed
We paid full price for the water park, but clearly Adventure Island is not staffed to provide the full experience, and they are not transparent about this on their website or within the park.

We regret to read about your experience, and we would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention. Unfortunately, despite annual maintenance and daily operating inspections, our slides and pools can experience technical difficulties, just as any other mechanical device. In most cases, we are able to re-open attractions quickly. That was our hope on the date you visited, and we sincerely apologize that we were not able to meet these expectations we strive to exceed.
We would like to assure you that we have forwarded your comments to our leadership team for their continued improvement. If you need further assistance, please reach out to us at
