We booked this trip on the recommendation of TripAdvisor but also positive reviews across Google and Facebook, pretty impressive given people will moan about anything these days, on our California road trip. We had a great trip consisting of three hours where Isaiah explained why Monterey has a population of whales due to the depth of the ocean. We were very lucky to see a Blue Whale and a number of Humpback Whales on our trip. What we particularly liked was how intimate this trip was, luckily there were only 18 of us. It is very clear to us both that Isaiah and Captain Danny have a genuine passion for whale watching and so makes the experience all the more better. The water can be quite choppy, so if you are prone to seasickness like myself please take meds with you and before your trip. Unfortunately I wasn’t too well on the boat after a couple of hours despite taking preventative measures, but again having had this happen on previous boat trips I was very impressed that Isaiah was just round the corner with some water to freshen up. I’d recommend wearing sun protection, we both have bright red faces and bring warm clothing! This is a once in a lifetime experience not to be missed if visiting Monterey.

This was well worth it! After a brief safety briefing, we left the harbor - what a beautiful boat ride. And then the show. Wow. We saw a small pod of whales who breached and fluked and rolled and waved. The guide, Andrew, was knowledgeable about the momma and her calf (born earlier this year). That baby whale breached and dove and just had a blast in the open ocean. Captain kept a respectful district but that mom-whale wanted to catch a glimpse of us too. (It’s her home, after all). Great trip!

This was a horrible experience. Both my wife and I got and were vomiting. We were not given adequate notice that this could happen, only as we boarded the ship did they mention this possibility. But what really upset me is that I signed up for a 2 hour, and the end it 3 hours. That third hour was torture for and I deserve a refund.

Hello, We are very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your trip. 10-20mins prior to each tour and to boarding the boat our crew has a safety briefing with all of the passengers on the back deck and one of the topics discussed is seasickness and they will recommend anyone susceptible or if ocean conditions are bumpy, to take some right then and there. We have preventitive measures available. Our trips are advertised as 2.5-3 hours in length, can you please inform us where you saw it is 2 hours so that we may correct any false information? Please contact us at [email protected] so that we may further discuss your experience. We appreciate your feedback.
