Alaska Helicopter and Glacier Dogsled Tour - ANCHORAGE AREA

Overview
The most popular tour! Drive your own sled-dog team with 4 time Iditarod winner Dallas Seavey's team of mushers, handlers and champion dogs on real snow in the middle of summer surrounded by amazing scenery. Start this adventure with a helicopter ride over glaciers and icebergs. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and goats. Land on a huge snow eld high on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with champion sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer. Take the dog team for an exhilarating ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush your own dog team or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After your dogsled tour meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, listen to stories about running sled dog races of over a 1,000 miles long, and of course take pictures with your favorite dogs. After the tour the helicopter takes you back to the lodge and you’ll fly over the lower glaciers where you can see the blue melt pools and the crevasses.

It is an unforgettable experience and definitely recommend it. We did the Helicopter and Glacier and Dogsled Tour. Even though both were amazing, if someone wants to save money I would say do only the helicopter because that part is worth the price but the dogsled is a bit expensive. Landing on the glacier is quite beautiful but the time riding with the dogs is short, we spent long time taking pictures with them that I would have prefer to spend riding in the sled. The doggies are quite cute and docile. They don't jump on you or anything. The time in the helicopter is perfect, the pilot was very nice and knowledgeable, he took us close to the areas were we could spot animals and explain things about the glaciers. My mom is older and they were helpful and patient with her.

This was an amazing experience. The chance to meet an Iditarod champion dog sled team was beyond words. The mushers were great and the pups were so sweet. The helicopter ride to camp was also amazing Highly! Highly recommend this adventure.
