Alaska Helicopter and Glacier Dogsled Tour - ANCHORAGE AREA

Overview
The most popular tour! Drive your own sled-dog team with 4 time Iditarod winner Dallas Seavey's team of mushers, handlers and champion dogs on real snow in the middle of summer surrounded by amazing scenery. Start this adventure with a helicopter ride over glaciers and icebergs. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and goats. Land on a huge snow eld high on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with champion sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer. Take the dog team for an exhilarating ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush your own dog team or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After your dogsled tour meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, listen to stories about running sled dog races of over a 1,000 miles long, and of course take pictures with your favorite dogs. After the tour the helicopter takes you back to the lodge and you’ll fly over the lower glaciers where you can see the blue melt pools and the crevasses.

My husband and I planned a trip to Alaska for our 30th wedding anniversary. We did several different tours but this by far was the most incredible experience either of us has ever had. First of all the scenery on the helicopter ride to the dog sled camp was beyond words. Upon arriving at the camp , we were greeted by the staff who work with the dogs. They were all very friendly and professional. Emily was our guide and she was awesome! She taught us so much about the dogs and dog sledding. We even had the opportunity to drive the sled team. It was just an amazing experience. After spending time with the dogs it was back into the helicopter with our pilot “the flyin Hawaiian” who flew us back over a glacier. Incredible!!!! It was obvious that everyone we encountered on our trip LOVED their job and shared their enthusiasm with us! Must do if planning a trip to Alaska!!!

The glacier experience with the dogs and setting of the glacier. The surrounding mountains and helicopter ride to the glacier was unspeakable beauty. The company who runs this excursion very personable
