Alaska Helicopter and Glacier Dogsled Tour - ANCHORAGE AREA

Overview
The most popular tour! Drive your own sled-dog team with 4 time Iditarod winner Dallas Seavey's team of mushers, handlers and champion dogs on real snow in the middle of summer surrounded by amazing scenery. Start this adventure with a helicopter ride over glaciers and icebergs. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and goats. Land on a huge snow eld high on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with champion sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer. Take the dog team for an exhilarating ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush your own dog team or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After your dogsled tour meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, listen to stories about running sled dog races of over a 1,000 miles long, and of course take pictures with your favorite dogs. After the tour the helicopter takes you back to the lodge and you’ll fly over the lower glaciers where you can see the blue melt pools and the crevasses.

We had done a similar helicopter and dogsled tour out of Juneau a few years before and we enjoyed it so much that we wanted to do another one, this time out of Anchorage. All I can say is that this one was even better than the last one! Our pilot was quick to point out wildlife and even circle it on our way up and back from the dogsled camp. And the dogs were so happy to see us! We quickly got a safety briefing and were away on our dogsled. What an experience! I can highly recommend this adventure. I had on a t-shirt, a long sleeve shirt, a quilted jacket covered by a windbreaker along with stocking cap, light weight gloves and a buff (scarf) and was very comfortable. They provided boots. And they even had puppies to pet! First class all the way!!!

The mushers are kind and so much fun to be around. The dogs are amazing and so friendly! We also LOVED our pilot who took us up to Troublesome Glacier. He was great, and made the flight so fun!

Amazing is the only word that I can use to describe this excursion! The staff from pick up driver, to pilot, to dog camp staff were amazing! The views beyond spectacular and having times to play with the huskies was wonderful. Highlight of my trip.
