What To Expect

Kachemak Bay State Park

Take a 2-hour (or longer) trip out on the water, catered to whatever your interests might be. Go see humpback and orca whales, birds, sea otters, or just check out the landscape as you cruise into deeper bays that push up against mountains and waterfalls. You can even choose what time of day to go. Are you into photography? Tailer your trip, depart early morning or late evening to capture images in the best light.

John was knowledgeable, friendly, and provided a fabulous tour tailored to our preferences. We were able to observe a humpback whale as it circled and fed, occasionally breeching. We also saw eagles, sea lions, and beautiful fall colors. We appreciated being able to get out of the boat to explore a waterfall at Tutka Bay. I highly recommend Captain John and this tour.

Sally and Captain John couldn't have done better! Easy to work with and extensive knowledge is the area. Will use again on next visit, we're even able to see two whales, one extremely close because of John's captaining skills and experience. Book Coldwater if you can
