What To Expect

Kachemak Bay State Park

Take a 2-hour (or longer) trip out on the water, catered to whatever your interests might be. Go see humpback and orca whales, birds, sea otters, or just check out the landscape as you cruise into deeper bays that push up against mountains and waterfalls. You can even choose what time of day to go. Are you into photography? Tailer your trip, depart early morning or late evening to capture images in the best light.

We had a great time with Capt. John who was both knowledgeable and funny! We were blessed with both great weather and whale, eagle, and lots of sea otter sightings! Thank you for a memorable trip!

We had such a wonderful experience with Coldwater AK! One day with Captain Patrick we did a 2 hour wildlife tour and then the next day with Captain John we took a water taxi over to hike to Grewingk glacier. They were both kind, helpful and particularly wonderful with our 2 kids (age 7yo and almost 10yo). We saw otters, puffins, eagles, starfish and harbor seals. Everyone in the office was also incredibly easy to communicate with and helpful to decide what would be best for our family. We cannot thank them all enough!

Highly recommend a tour with Coldwater, firstly it was so nice to have a boat with only a few people on it and not crammed in like sardines. Booking by email was easy as Sally was very helpful and responsive. Then the tour with captain John was incredible, you can tell he is so passionate about the wildlife and has great knowledge. We saw so many things from puffins to otters to porpoise to a humpback, John was determined to help us see as much as possible, lovely guy to chat to as well very personable and good customer service. Would have considered doing the tour again as they always take different routes depending on the day and what has been about, except we had to finish our time in Homer.
