Rainbow Ryders Hot Air Balloon
Rise early to begin your hot-air balloon experience. Stop into the office for check-in, then ride to the balloon launch site (which varies day-to-day depending on weather). Your pilot begins the process of inflating the balloon when you arrive. You can even help out the crew during the inflation process for a more hands-on experience. As you float high above the ground, enjoy incredible birds-eye views of the Rio Grande Valley. Your pilot determines the route for the day depending on the windā€™s direction. You may fly over the city of Albuquerque and even dip low enough to wave at people or skim the Rio Grande River. Throughout your flight, your pilot shares informative commentary about the landscape beneath you. After approximately one hour in the air, your pilot lands the balloon and the ground crew comes to meet you. Celebrate your flight with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and a commemorative flight certificate before returning to the original starting point.
Cancellation Policy
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

My husband and I had our very first Balloon ride with Rainbow Riders on a Sunrise Balloon ride. What a fantastic experience!! Dress very warm in layers to start the day!! We hit the local Walmart which isnā€™t too far from the Festival site, for gloves, long Johns and sweatshirts- as we didnā€™t realize how cold Albuquerque is in the mornings ! Rainbow Riders is great, well organized, and our pilot was so very knowledgeable, as well as personable! We lucked out with wonderful weather, a nice breeze, and a perfect landing!! Definitely would do this again!! We camped with our medium sized pop-up trailer right across from the Festival grounds, with LOTS of other campers and motor homes. Met some wonderful people!!

Booked this as part of a Contiki trip. Met at the hotel and taken out to the launch site. The balloon was setup very quickly and we were away. A very relaxing ride over Albuquerque with great 360 degree views. Our touchdown was soft and right on target. The champagne breakfast was the best way to conclude the experience. Dropped back at the hotel to finish. Our pilot Paul and his ground staff Nicole and CJ were excellent and made everyone feel relaxed and enjoy the flight. Highly recommended

i love to fly and have done many things in the air - hanggliding, parasailing, helicopter ride - but hot air ballooning brings something unique to the table. it's a super smooth and peaceful way to get in the air, and our pilot showed incredible control of our balloon. we were able to literally skim treetops and land on a little sandbar in the middle of the rio grande before getting back up in the air. beautiful views of the sandia mountains, the river and the city. our pilot said most rides last between 45 min and 1 hour but we were able to be in the balloon for almost an hour and a half, just taking in the view, learning ballooning facts from our pilot, and taking tons of pictures and video. one note of caution as you're planning: after daylight savings (spring forward), most sunset rides are cancelled due to weather. i was hoping to go for a sunset ride but had to settle for waking up early, but the sunrise ride was great too! would do it again if i wanted to splurge! thanks rainbow ryders!

We love soaring among the clouds as much as you do, and are thrilled you gave hot air ballooning a shot! It really is a totally different experience and it always amazes us how peaceful it is once in the air. We are thrilled we were able to share some gorgeous New Mexico views with you (bright and early) and appreciate the time you took to leave us a review. Cheers to another check off your bucket list!
