The ferry will leave on time at the specific time you booked. You have to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time at Pier 33. Walk, bike, take public transportation, or drive (as a last resort as it can be challenging to find parking), with easy access from anywhere around the Bay!

On the island follow the Cellhouse audio tour “Doing Time” 45 minutes available in Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

What To Expect

Alcatraz Island

You will take a short ride on a ferry (15min) to Alcatraz Island from Pier 33. Enjoy a 45-minute immersive audio tour to listen to the incredible history of the infamous prison. After that, you have all the time you want to explore the rest of the island. Then you can take any ferry back to the Pier 33. The ferry usually runs every 30 minutes.

To start tickets we’re hard to get there was no bay tour just a ride to the island. There was no tour guide so pretty much walked around aimlessly. Could of been way better considering the cost I paid.

Dear Yvonne, I am sorry you had this experience. The tickets are sent every day before the Alcatraz tour by email. There is also a Cruise include of 1 hour in the Bay and it is actually really, you can see the whole City of San Francisco from the Bay, you see the Golden Gate Bridge and you actually go underneath and that's pretty cool. You see also the Bay Bridge who goes to Oakland. In Alcatraz there is an Amazing audio tour that you should not miss, it's 45min and it's so immersive.
