You will explore INSIDE the Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary on Alcatraz Island with America’s most ruthless criminals, including Al Capone.

The ferry will leave on time at the specific time you booked. You have to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time at Pier 33. Walk, bike, take public transportation, or drive (as a last resort as it can be challenging to find parking), with easy access from anywhere around the Bay!

On the island follow the Cellhouse audio tour “Doing Time” 45 minutes available in Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

What To Expect

Alcatraz Island

You will take a short ride on a ferry (15min) to Alcatraz Island from Pier 33. Enjoy a 45-minute immersive audio tour to listen to the incredible history of the infamous prison. After that, you have all the time you want to explore the rest of the island. Then you can take any ferry back to the Pier 33. The ferry usually runs every 30 minutes.

They sold me tickets , without telling me that I coud not get into the prision or other rooms becuase COVID. It was just the ferry and walk around the island , and the audio divice was not working either . Terrible experience.They fooled me.

Dear Yohana, sorry about that. Since January 2021 it is now open for the inside too, so you could explore the inside. It was specified that during that time and with the CDC guidelines, nobody is allowed to go inside the prison but only on the island but outdoor. I am sorry that you missed that. Spur of the moment trip brought us in for the weekend to San Francisco. Great way to spend the day. Everyone was very professional. Each group we encountered was very polite and accommodating. Alcatraz was at your own pace. Definitely do the audio tour..it’s included. Tour around the bay was breathtaking with dolphins that followed the boat. Every tour was very informative.

I recently booked the Alcatraz with bay cruise for two on the Expedia website. The website indicated that the tour was available, however, on my way to the tour meeting location I received a call from Faycal to let me know that there had been a glitch with the website and that the tour was sold out. Naturally, I was disappointed but Faycal apologized and posed other options that might allow me to participate in the tour. Unfortunately, none of the other options worked out and we were leaving San Francisco the next day. I called Faycal to request a refund and he promptly processed my refund and offered a discount on the next activity I book through them. Faycal was genuinely helpful throughout the entire process. Thanks again!
