It’s an intimate nature experience in which participants can expect to get up close and personal with turtles, alligators, snakes, otters, and occasionally, manatees. The terrestrial nature of the forest attracts pileated woodpeckers, red shoulder hawks, and the curious anhinga, sometimes referred to as the “water turkey.” The protected makeup of Lofton Creek means paddling here is “weather resistant” to tumultuous coastal conditions. A south-bound paddle on Lofton Creek provides picturesque marsh views, whereas a north-bound paddle is a more remote, forested experience. A leisurely paddling experience guided by two efficient, patient and knowledgeable guides..a quiet, shady, serene two hours that went by way too fast..Despite not seeing creatures, we marveled at the flora and fauna along side the intense tannic black water. I'm a local and this was my first trip, but it won't be my last. So enjoyable!! Thank you!

Will and Taylor were excellent guides! They were friendly, knowledgeable and took good care of us. The creek was quiet and beautiful. Lofton Creek doesn’t have mosquitos, which was a pleasant surprise! We learned so much and enjoyed ourselves. Do note that this kayak tour is not actually on Amelia Island.
