The terrestrial nature of the forest attracts pileated woodpeckers, red shoulder hawks, and the curious anhinga, sometimes referred to as the “water turkey.” The protected makeup of Lofton Creek means paddling here is “weather resistant” to tumultuous coastal conditions. Amelia Adventures, Guided Kayak Tour, was a great experience on the water. Our family of 5 from 12 years old on up had a great time. It was fun for our beginners and our experienced kayakers. Would definitely recommend. Our guides were fantastic and knowledgeable about the water, plants and birds. So much fun! Thanks Amelia Adventures.
