Overview

The Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is perfect for paddlers of any level, including children and beginners. It’s an intimate nature experience in which participants can expect to get up close and personal with turtles, alligators, snakes, otters, and occasionally, manatees. The terrestrial nature of the forest attracts pileated woodpeckers, red shoulder hawks, and the curious anhinga, sometimes referred to as the “water turkey.” The protected makeup of Lofton Creek means paddling here is “weather resistant” to tumultuous coastal conditions. A south-bound paddle on Lofton Creek provides picturesque marsh views, whereas a north-bound paddle is a more remote, forested experience. I called with a last minute request for a self-guided kayak tour of Egan's creek for the next day. Our family of eight had a range of experience and ages. Catherine and Thomas made it easy. They were already pretty booked for the day, but were able to work out a great plan for us. We had a great tour: the equipment was in great shape, they gave us great info on where to paddle,, and both Catherine and Thomas could not have been nicer. We're looking forward to new adventures with them when we return to Amelia. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Amelia Adventures. Catherine responded to my voicemail in a very timely manner regarding the Lofton Creek guided tour. We were happy to learn she was also our tour guide. Upon arrival, she provided a quick kayak lesson. During the tour she provided valuable information regarding the flora and fauna of the creek. Catherine helped make our adventure enjoyable and fun!

Such a great experience! Our family had so much fun. Catherine and Tiki were awesome with their knowledge and patience (with me, especially, while I got comfortable with the kayak, lol). It was a perfect excursion for our 5 year old and 7 year old. We saw many cool things and the pictures that were taken perfectly highlight how much fun we had. We will definitely use them again when we come back next year
