Amelia Island Guided Kayak Tour of Lofton Creek

Overview
The Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is perfect for paddlers of any level, including children and beginners. It’s an intimate nature experience in which participants can expect to get up close and personal with turtles, alligators, snakes, otters, and occasionally, manatees. The terrestrial nature of the forest attracts pileated woodpeckers, red shoulder hawks, and the curious anhinga, sometimes referred to as the “water turkey.” The protected makeup of Lofton Creek means paddling here is “weather resistant” to tumultuous coastal conditions. A south-bound paddle on Lofton Creek provides picturesque marsh views, whereas a north-bound paddle is a more remote, forested experience. The Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is a guaranteed good time for everyone in your group!

This adventure was so very cool Whether you are a novice or kayaking enthusiast, Amelia Adventures is for you! This was my husband and I’s first time going Kayak (we are in our 50’s) and it was so much fun. The beautiful Lofton Creek blackwater kayak tour was peaceful, informative, and so good for your soul. Catherine was our tour guide and is the owner. She is full of tons of informations from plant life to animal life. This tour was considered a beginners tour, but I think anyone would love the peacefulness of Lofton Creek! We even got to do a kayak limbo with a huge tree trunk! (You’ll have to go on it to see what I mean!) Take the time to go on this tour. They offer other things if you are not interested in kayaks. They have paddle boards, they have motor boat tours, and lots of other things that will fit your needs. This family owned adventure tours is the real deal. Do not pass up this opportunity to be one with nature!

I loved reading your sweet review! I was thrilled to take you kayaking on Lofton Creek, the best kept secret! Let's paddle Egan's Creek next, then Amelia River, Talbot and Cumberland Island:) Until next time... -Catherine

Catherine and Margarita were wonderful guides. We made the right choice to go early at the 9:00 tour as it got very hot on the return trip. The creek is very calm and easy. We chose this company based on a review of seeing manatees, dolphins, and otters by a previous client but sadly we only saw a yellow slider turtle but the scenery was lovely. I assume they must have other tours that go elsewhere that you might see those animals.

Thank you for kayaking Lofton Creek with us and for your kind words. We love the 9AM launch for many reasons:) Perhaps the previous review was from one of our other kayak tours as we typically see manatee and dolphin on our coastal kayak tours and boat tours. Otters are always a treat to see, one of my favorite animals. Next time you are looking for an adventure, we would love to have you. -Catherine
