The Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is perfect for paddlers of any level, including children and beginners. It’s an intimate nature experience in which participants can expect to get up close and personal with turtles, alligators, snakes, otters, and occasionally, manatees. The terrestrial nature of the forest attracts pileated woodpeckers, red shoulder hawks, and the curious anhinga, sometimes referred to as the “water turkey.” The protected makeup of Lofton Creek means paddling here is “weather resistant” to tumultuous coastal conditions. A south-bound paddle on Lofton Creek provides picturesque marsh views, whereas a north-bound paddle is a more remote, forested experience. Tour guides are super friendly and knowledgeable of the area. We had an amazing time. No bugs and the weather was beautiful. If you are in the area and want something to do, check them out. You will not be disappointed.

My wife and I enjoyed our Lofton Creek Tour as we gracefully kayaked through the serene river/wooded swamp. We were able to see some sunning turtles and small gator, while enjoying the quiet stillness you find away from this busy world. However, one of the other couples in the group had a fish jump in their kayak which gave us all a great laugh, and perhaps that couple a scare too! Amelia Adventures also did a good job social distancing and ensuring we had sanitized equipment during this time in the world.
