Overview

The Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is perfect for paddlers of any level, including children and beginners. It’s an intimate nature experience in which participants can expect to get up close and personal with turtles, alligators, snakes, otters, and occasionally, manatees. The terrestrial nature of the forest attracts pileated woodpeckers, red shoulder hawks, and the curious anhinga, sometimes referred to as the “water turkey.” The protected makeup of Lofton Creek means paddling here is “weather resistant” to tumultuous coastal conditions. A south-bound paddle on Lofton Creek provides picturesque marsh views, whereas a north-bound paddle is a more remote, forested experience. Our family enjoyed a lovely kayak trip on Lofton Creek. Our guides were encouraging and helpful with our children who were kayaking for the first time. We saw turtles and even a small alligator! An experience that our children will remember for years.

My husband and I did the Lofton Creek kayak tour last month and had a great time. I'm not a fan of kayaking in rough waters, and this creek was super peaceful, just right for me. We saw some really cool animals and our guides were great - and they took some wonderful pictures of us and the others on our tour. Would definitely recommend!

We booked a kayaking tour with Amelia Adventures as a family get together. We had such a great time kayaking with Catherine and Jonathan. They provided us with so much more than a paddle up and down Lofton Creek. We learned about the history of the area, the flora and fauna, and all the ways the town is working to preserve this special area. They also provided us with suggestions on what to do and where to eat following our tour. Would book with Amelia Adventures again in a heartbeat. Great team!
