Overview

The Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is perfect for paddlers of any level, including children and beginners. It’s an intimate nature experience in which participants can expect to get up close and personal with turtles, alligators, snakes, otters, and occasionally, manatees. The terrestrial nature of the forest attracts pileated woodpeckers, red shoulder hawks, and the curious anhinga, sometimes referred to as the “water turkey.” The protected makeup of Lofton Creek means paddling here is “weather resistant” to tumultuous coastal conditions. A south-bound paddle on Lofton Creek provides picturesque marsh views, whereas a north-bound paddle is a more remote, forested experience. My husband and I went to Amelia Island to celebrate 1 year back when we were dating. We had the MOST amazing time Kayaking with Amelia Adventures! It was a gorgeous sunrise tour and we were lucky enough to see a wild horse and her foal having a grassy breakfast! We definitely would recommend this tour!!! It is such a great experience!

We had a great time with Thomas and Catherine kayaking on Lofton Creek. They were super friendly and knowledgeable. Thomas takes plenty of pictures so we didn't have to worry about cameras. We highly recommend them. Can't wait to go again!

What a great experience! My age sixty something fraternity brothers and their spouses wanted to explore the Fernandina Beach waterway by kayak. Luckily, our tour guide/little sister Gigi discovered Amelia Adventures. The Olivers were great tour guides....very helpful and informative. And the equipment was all first class. If you are up for a kayaking adventure don't miss Amelia Adventures!
