The Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is perfect for paddlers of any level, including children and beginners. It’s an intimate nature experience in which participants can expect to get up close and personal with turtles, alligators, snakes, otters, and occasionally, manatees. The terrestrial nature of the forest attracts pileated woodpeckers, red shoulder hawks, and the curious anhinga, sometimes referred to as the “water turkey.” The protected makeup of Lofton Creek means paddling here is “weather resistant” to tumultuous coastal conditions. A south-bound paddle on Lofton Creek provides picturesque marsh views, whereas a north-bound paddle is a more remote, forested experience. Our tour guides (couple) were great. They were knowledgeable and you could tell they liked their job. They stayed with less experienced riders and let riders with more experience go off a little more on their own (even though everyone was still generally together). We went to Cucumber Island. It was cool that they let us explore it and walk the beach for a little over half an hour. The kayaks were in good condition. We also saw dolphins multiple times, and they were really close to us. That part was really awesome!

While we live here on the island, our oldest son was here visiting, so we decided it would be fun to take a kayaking tour together. We had a blast!! We took the Lofton Creek tour with Thomas as our guide. We saw alligators and turtles and Thomas did a great job explaining various things about the creek and ecosystem there. I highly recommend Amelia Adventures to anyone wanting to have a great day out on the water with knowledgeable and fun tour guides!!

Had a great time kayaking in Lofton creek tour with Thomas. The staff was very friendly and helpful!! He was awesome and very kind!! I would definitely come again with Amelia adventures!!
