Amelia Island Guided Kayak Tour of Lofton Creek

Overview
The Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is perfect for paddlers of any level, including children and beginners. It’s an intimate nature experience in which participants can expect to get up close and personal with turtles, alligators, snakes, otters, and occasionally, manatees. The terrestrial nature of the forest attracts pileated woodpeckers, red shoulder hawks, and the curious anhinga, sometimes referred to as the “water turkey.” The protected makeup of Lofton Creek means paddling here is “weather resistant” to tumultuous coastal conditions. A south-bound paddle on Lofton Creek provides picturesque marsh views, whereas a north-bound paddle is a more remote, forested experience. The Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is a guaranteed good time for everyone in your group!

We were scheduled for the Cumberland Island tour, but due to winds we decided to take the Egans Creek tour instead. Even though I'm a bit novice to kayaking, I had an amazing time and our way back out of the creek with the wind pushing us and the tide pulling us was so amazing. We barely had to paddle, just coast on. Couldn't have enjoyed it more! Thomas was great and so helpful and knowledgeable.

This was the highlight of our trip to Amelia! We go down every couple of months and this was our first kayaking trip in Amelia!!! We had the best host who made us feel at home. She was a great tour guide who made sure the trip was full of picture opps! From beautiful flowers just blooming to gator babies it was a blast. Ty and we will be back!

We booked a kayak tour to Cumberland Island, which included our two young boys, ages 8 and 4. We rented two tandem kayaks. The tour was a lot of fun; we saw an attack submarine, dolphins, and of course, the wild horses on Cumberland itself. Thomas was a great guide and took lots of photos of us during the trip. The current at times was a bit challenging and provided me with a bit of a workout, especially since my 65 lb 8 year old was a bit inconsistent with his paddling. Overall, highly recommend Amelia Adventures.
