Amelia Island Guided Kayak Tour of Lofton Creek

Overview
The Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is perfect for paddlers of any level, including children and beginners. It’s an intimate nature experience in which participants can expect to get up close and personal with turtles, alligators, snakes, otters, and occasionally, manatees. The terrestrial nature of the forest attracts pileated woodpeckers, red shoulder hawks, and the curious anhinga, sometimes referred to as the “water turkey.” The protected makeup of Lofton Creek means paddling here is “weather resistant” to tumultuous coastal conditions. A south-bound paddle on Lofton Creek provides picturesque marsh views, whereas a north-bound paddle is a more remote, forested experience. The Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is a guaranteed good time for everyone in your group!

We recently traveled to Amelia Island for our honeymoon and booked a kayak tour. We had a blast! We would definitely recommend booking with Amelia Adventures! Thomas was a very knowledgeable and fun tour guide. The scenery was beautiful. Thomas took some great pictures that we will cherish for many years to come. We plan on booking another tour with Amelia Adventures when we travel back next year! Thanks again for a great tour!

With a bunch of kayaking tours to choose from, it was Amelia Adventures' focus on the environment that made me book with them. We had a great time with Thomas, Walter and Wes as our guides for the Cumberland Island tour. The trip was planned to make the channel crossing as easy as possible. Our group was comprised of three tandems and six singles plus our guides. Thomas gave the group a good pre-paddle lesson on land and we got a little practice in the water before heading out. We left from Fort Clinch and travelled to Cumberland Island. We saw wild horses on the island and hunted for seashells (found some unusual ones) while we rested up for the trip back. During the return trip we saw a fishing boat with flocks of pelicans and seagulls looking for an easy dinner. Tons of fun!

Thomas gave us a great kayak tour to Cumberland Island! We watched dolphins up close frolicking in front of Ft. Clinch then we headed over to the island where we walked the beach, found some awesome shells, and viewed the wild horses. Thomas was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about Amelia and Cumberland Islands. He also took some great photos for us. Thanks!!
