Only on Hilton Head and only in Harbour Town can you sail aboard the real America's Cup, 12 meter, Stars & Stripes once skippered by the famous Dennis Connor. All trips take place under full sail. We only use our motor to get in and out of Harbour Town.

We don't offer any infant rates for this trip as the tickets are a per person rate. All ages will need a ticket.
Stars & Stripes is USCG approved to carry up to 30 passengers, but since COVID we have limited public capacity to 20 passengers.
Private charters are available for Stars & Stripes. Please contact Vagabond Cruise if you are interested to learn more about this option.

The boat sailed back and forth in the sound. I saw the lighthouse 9 times. The captain was very grumpy. The first mate and deck hand were very nice. I was really looking forward to this and it ended up being disappointing and boreing. Beware they will offer you beverages and not tell you that you have to pay at the end so bring cash.

This sailing adventure sails around the harbor. The boat is nice and we found the sailing very relaxing. However, we expected more interaction from the crew. The captain never spoke one word to us, and the crew only reviewed the rules at the beginning of the charter. There was no explanation of sailing, opportunity to help, narrative about the boat or discussion about the area. We expected more from the crew. Based on the other reviews, maybe we got a different crew or they were having a bad day, but they sure did not make us feel welcome.

If you enjoy sailing this is a fantastic outing on an iconic boat that is still a blast to sail. It is only a 90 minute trip but Captain Peter and the crew had the sails up within 5 minutes of departing Harbor Town and we sailed back and forth across the calibogue sound right up until the end when it was time to drop sails and return to the dock. We had a nice fresh breeze and lots of sunshine and everyone on board was in high spirits. I was really surprised that Captain Peter let several of us sail the boat for an extended period under his watchful eye. That was quite a treat. We will be sure to book this again next time we are in the area.
