If you are going because you are a fan of Night at the Museum - don’t. It is nothing like the film and apart from Dum Dum none of the main exhibits in the film are there - there aren’t even Egyptian/Roman/Railroad areas. I had a hugely disappointed teenager traipsing around with me. If you love museums though this is great although not the best laid out - you need a good 4 hrs minimum if you’re going to wander around everything. It’s an odd collection with no seeming links and a lot of gaps in history but you can take it as it is. Start at Level 4 - amazing dinosaur exhibits - and work down. Make sure you pre book!!

This was a really fun museum to visit. Some of the exhibits are very hands on and interactive. We had visited The Met prior to here so I was worried we'd be burned out, but the exhibits are at a level of both basic and in depth so we went with a more basic approach and really loved our time spent here. We chose exhibits we wanted to see and skipped over a few. Overall it was a really cool museum.
