Overall: 10/10! Pricing: Like many others, it offers a suggested pricing but the museum is free to get into should you choose to (or are unable) not pay anything. Special exhibits such as the T-Rex and under the oceans ones are at a cost but SO WORTH IT!! Exhibits: Four floors of absolutely stunning and well laid out artifacts and fossils! Any dinosaur lover will be at home here! But there’s so much more than just dinosaurs! The meteorites and ocean life sections are almost beyond comprehension with how in-depth they are! Shops: so many. Most having offered similar items but also each shop had something different. Average pricing on souvenirs but they also had many sales going on! All in all, if you’re in NYC this is a MUST VISIT!

We arrived at the museum at 9:45am on a Saturday and there was a bit of a line already, which we expected. Once the museum opened at 10am, the line moved really quickly and we did the pay what you wish at the counter. We looked at the museum map ahead of time to get an idea of the place and we went straight up to the 4th floor with all the dinosaurs. It was fairly empty at first, while most people were downstairs, and then we made our way down. It was really great for my kids ages 2-9, who were excited about the big whale, dinosaur fossils, and finding the Dum Dum statue from the movie Night at the Museum (which btw is on the 3rd floor). However, if it was just myself and my husband, we would rather prefer the Met. Overall, a fun experience, but prepare for longer lines if visiting on a weekend.

Used the kiosk to purchase tickets with ease. Museum was very busy and it was hard at times to navigate, but that is not the museums fault. It is very large and there is a ton to see. I would definitely recommend but think you should go with the knowledge that you probably wouldn't/couldn't/shouldn't take it in in all one visit. It's ok to leave something for another time. I think people would get more joy if they accepted that. One suggestion for actual museum improvement? Label the restrooms!!! We had to ask multiple somewhat disinterested employees for a restroom location. After receiving several vague instructions, finally the helpful clerk in the museum store gave accurate ones. I have never been in such a large public building without restroom signage. Someone should even grab a marker at this point. :)
