We were privileged to a wonderful VIP tour with the Amish with our guide Beth who share her experience with the Amish and prepare us to enjoy the best of the tour. She answe all our questions with patience. She prepare us well to get the best of our encounter with the 3 Amish Family. We feel welcome and they all explain to us their life. If you are really interested to know about Amish this is the tour to take. I will recommend to any one visiting the area.

Taking in the whole "experience," was really helpful in learning about and understanding the Amish way of life. The 40 minute movie, more or less, explained the "Rumspringa" or "running around" when an Amish youth chooses baptism within the their church, or instead leaves their community. The bus tour (bus holds maybe 18 people) was very nice. It winds through the area's countryside, with the "tour guide" driver explaining and answering questions on many facts about the Amish. Our tour guide, Kent, was very knowledgeable, seeing that he said that he had many Amish personal friends. The replicas of the Amish schoolhouse & homestead was also quite interesting. Although the tour guide on this section was very helpful in explaining this portion of the tour and answering many questions, it should not be expected that you will actually be in an actual schoolhouse or home of the Amish. They are just more or less show-and-tell learning aids. The buggy ride was also very nice with another very knowledgeable driver who answered any and all questions that were thrown at him. We plan on going back to the Lancaster area soon & would like to take the Visit-In-Person Tour.

Kent our bus tour guide was extremely informative. We visited an Amish milking farm, Mary and Henry and their 3 children were very friendly and answered all our questions. We learned how milk is kept cold without electricity. Between the farms we visited Kent provided lots of information about the Amish and their beliefs and the surrounding area. Our next visit was another Amish family where the Dad his son and daughter made leather crafts. The Dad showed us how he made a belt and his son was using a sewing machine to make the stitching around the belts. I bought a very well made clutch purse, very soft. Our last visit was another Amish family where we went into their home and asked questions about their life and we got to see their bible. It was very impressive. The Dad and older brother in this family made bird houses and lighthouses which we also got to see the workshop and how the lighthouses were built. This was an excellent experience and would definitely recommend it. Kent was excellent.
