Jay was our driver for our VIP tour at the Amish Experience. But much more, he was an expert guide and facilitator for our home visit to an Amish household, a buggy factory, and a farm where Guernsey cows are milked. We were listening to every word as Jay exposed us to the Amish culture and heritage. If you are interested in a "rapid acceleration" of your knowledge and understanding about the Amish, Jay is your professor extraordinaire! P.S. Jay carried an insulated bag so the cheese we bought at the farm was chilled for the ride home. P.P.S. The family style dining at the restaurant, sold separately, was a great chance to dine and get to know fellow travelers from other parts of the country.

We took this experience due to the great endorsement on Trip Advisor. This was well worth it. We purchased the VIP pkg. We visited three Amish homes/ businesses as we traveled the countryside. The first was a working milking farm famy, then a family where the wife sewed many useful items & breed a few puppies for additional income. The last stop was a family we sat down with on their lawn to converse. The BEST perk is a voucher for each ticket purchased a FREE family style dinner or $16.50 off a regular table a la carte dinner at the adjacent Plain and Fancy restaurant. That itself paid for the tour.

This was our 1st time to visit Lancaster County and we spent two nights at the KOA. We ended up taking the VIP tour in the evening from 5-8:15pm . Our group was small and Kent was very knowledgeable & friendly. The day before we had visited the "touristy stuff" and it was really a bunch of commercialized junk. This was a way to really meet the people and visit their homes and farms and ask tons of questions. We visited a working dairy farm, a cottage industry business and finally a residential family. It was $60/person but the best money we spent for the value and experience!

Dear Michael, Thank you very much for your review, and I'm very glad to hear that you found the tour to be such a great experience! As you mentioned, it really is the best way to interact with members in the Amish community. And thanks for your words about Kent as well! We look forward to seeing you again the next time you are in Lancaster.
