Amish Experience Visit-In-Person Tour

Overview
Many visitors to Lancaster seek out meaningful personal contact with the Amish community. Imagine visiting three Amish properties where our longstanding relationships allow you to become their guests during your stay. This exclusive tour is limited to 14 guests, and provides the rare opportunity to meet and talk to various Amish where they live and work. The three stops: Visit an Amish farm at milking time, go behind-the-scenes with an Amish craftsman, and then sit and chat with an Amish family right in their home.

First-rate introduction to Amish life. The multimedia production "Jacob's Choice" combined history and contemporary living into a poignant story line. The Farm tour and Amish house visit were very worthwhile experiences. Bill E. was our guide and did a fantastic job.

Spent a day out from Philadelphia with Philly Tours. Taken from our hotel to the train station and picked back up on our return. The Amish Experience was excellent, The restaurant was good and the gift shop had a very wide range of items in it. Our guide Kent was extremely knowledgeable and we learnt a lot from him. Really enjoyed our tour around the countryside which included a visit to an Amish milking parlour and the quilting shop there. On the way back to Lancaster, our driver (from the Amish Experience) took us through even more glorious (mainly Amish) countryside. Excellent.

My kids and I visited Lancaster for the day and my kids, like their mom, are intrigued by the lifestyle of the Amish. We did the Amish Experience and we all enjoyed both the tour and the film Jacob's Choice. The gift shop isn't anything to write home about and we didn't have a chance to eat in the restaurant, but I would recommend this as a stop if you're ever traveling in the area.
