Amish Experience Visit-In-Person Tour

Overview
Many visitors to Lancaster seek out meaningful personal contact with the Amish community. Imagine visiting three Amish properties where our longstanding relationships allow you to become their guests during your stay. This exclusive tour is limited to 14 guests, and provides the rare opportunity to meet and talk to various Amish where they live and work. The three stops: Visit an Amish farm at milking time, go behind-the-scenes with an Amish craftsman, and then sit and chat with an Amish family right in their home.

Absolutely loved this tour. We have done several horse and buggy tours over the years to the farm but I highly recommend this tour. Bruce our tour guide was very friendly and all our Amish families were very welcoming.

We were late to the meeting point for few minutes and the tour just left without leaving a phone number or any way to contact the guide. We could catch the tour at its first stop point but were unable to do so because the guy at the office didn't have contact information with the tour. We lost our money we payed on this tour. It is a very disappointing experience. They can do more to help late comers to join the tour.

Catching up with the Visit in Person Tour just isn't possible like it would be on a normal tour. If you are ever in the area again, I'd be happy to reschedule you to another date. The tour does have to leave on time, and will leave without people, but we always try to move people who miss the tour to another date if possible.

Jim, our tour guide, was great. He was not just knowledgeable about the Amish, he knew the heart of the Amish. Because of him we got to understand and appreciate our Amish countrymen a whole lot more. Thank you.
