Amish Experience Visit-In-Person Tour

Overview
Many visitors to Lancaster seek out meaningful personal contact with the Amish community. Imagine visiting three Amish properties where our longstanding relationships allow you to become their guests during your stay. This exclusive tour is limited to 14 guests, and provides the rare opportunity to meet and talk to various Amish where they live and work. The three stops: Visit an Amish farm at milking time, go behind-the-scenes with an Amish craftsman, and then sit and chat with an Amish family right in their home.

What a wonderful experience! My mom and I were visiting the area and decided on the "visit in Person" tour. We loved every stop on the tour and learned so much about the Amish people ! Thank you to "Amish Experience" but even more importantly, thank you to the Amish families for sharing their time and allowing us to be a part of their busy schedule for a few moments. Oh And thanks to DeAnna!! Great tour guide. Great knowledge and true admiration and love for the Amish!

Our visit to the dairy farm was interesting and we were able to ask questions to the Amish farmer, Samuel. I wish they offered an “adults only” tour though. We had two children on our tour and it was quite distracting.

Thanks for the feedback. We instituted a "no children under age 6" policy a few years back which has helped. Sorry to hear your tour was a bit distracting.

We visited a farmer, a carpenter and a family in their house and learned a lot of and about them. We could see how they work and live. That was very exciting. Also it was very interesting for us as Swiss because Pennsylvanian Dutch is very similar to Swiss German and therefore we could communicate (almost) in this language. The nicest thing was actually that the people we met were very open to us and also asked us many questions. Many thanks for the hospitality!

Thanks so much for coming all the way from Switzerland and including us in your itinerary. Glad you got a chance to "schwetz" a little "Deitsch" with the Amish.
