Many visitors to Lancaster seek out meaningful personal contact with the Amish community. Imagine visiting three Amish properties where our longstanding relationships allow you to become their guests during your stay. This exclusive tour is limited to 14 guests, and provides the rare opportunity to meet and talk to various Amish where they live and work. The three stops: Visit an Amish farm at milking time, go behind-the-scenes with an Amish craftsman, and then sit and chat with an Amish family right in their home.

This tour was for my grandkids. We got to see a working dairy farm and walked thru the barn....many "friendly" cows...saw other animals, as well...very nice family. We learned about leatherworking at a leatherworking shop... this was very interesting...we finally got to sit and chat with an Amish family. My granddaughter loved this...this is exactly what she was looking for...learn more about the Amish...FROM the Amish. Everyone we met were very friendly and passed along a lot of information about their way of life. They also fielded many, many questions from my granddaughter. I would not hesitate to recommend this experience to anyone...and everyone....it was worth every penny spent.

I have been to a house previously occupied by Amish folks, now commercialized, with full explanations of life style and customs. This tour beckoned questions from tourist, and would be difficult to ask if you didn't have a detailed background, more readily available on a commercial, self contained, not occupied farmette/house. I had that knowledge, and was thoroughly impressed with this tour and the driver knowledge. The visits were another way for the Amish folks to make money, and not so intrusive as to interfere with their daily life, since different houses, farms, and work shops were visited only once or twice a month. I would recommend a visit to an Amish commercial house tour before this visit. I would highly recommend the VIP tour that Amish Experience has to offer. The add-on smoke house meal was dissappointing.
