This personal tour was a fantastic experience! Our guide, Kent, was extremely knowledgeable about Amish history and life. He and his wife count numerous Amish families among their friends. Everyone we met answered all of our questions very graciously. Our first stop was at a dairy farm. The entire family was so kind and sharing. We were able to feed young calves and were offered cookies and lemonade. Our second stop was at a farm wherein one of the outbuildings had been converted to a woodworking shed. Our Amish guide walked us through what it takes to build an Amish shed and chicken coop, from start to finish with examples that they had worked on during the week. Lastly, we were able to sit in the living room of a kind, loving, and peaceful family with many young, incredibly behaved children. They shared what church as like for the Amish and we got to see their Bible and hymnal. We highly recommend this tour to anyone! One caveat: there are no bathroom breaks on this 3-hour tour.
