Many visitors to Lancaster seek out meaningful personal contact with the Amish community. Imagine visiting three Amish properties where our longstanding relationships allow you to become their guests during your stay. This exclusive tour is limited to 14 guests, and provides the rare opportunity to meet and talk to various Amish where they live and work. The three stops: Visit an Amish farm at milking time, go behind-the-scenes with an Amish craftsman, and then sit and chat with an Amish family right in their home.

We visited the country homestead and school room and then did the Amish Farmlands bus tour, both with Jay. We were extremely impressed with Jay’s knowledge of the Amish Community and how he communicated this to us. Unfortunately we had limited time to explore the Amish Experience, but we felt like we had packed a lot into three hours. However, we could have stayed longer if we had had the time.

We enjoyed all aspects of the experience—the bus tour, the movie, the Smokehouse dinner and the VIP tour (an Amish farm, an Amish business and an Amish home visit with a lovely Amish couple). The VIP tour was the best.

Our tour guide was wonderful - informed and showed respect and care for both those on the tour and for the people and homes we visited. The wood shop portion could use some improvement. The Amish guide and the facility were not well prepared for our arrival, but we enjoyed immensely the chance to visit with members of his family who were in the yard playing with kittens and baby rabbits! Although they have products for sale, there is no sense of any pressure at all to purchase anything - just a genuine desire to share their way of life. The time with the family in their home was very relaxed as well as informative. Just like a visit with new friends. Overall, it was a wonderful experience - the highlight of our trip.
