Many visitors to Lancaster seek out meaningful personal contact with the Amish community. Imagine visiting three Amish properties where our longstanding relationships allow you to become their guests during your stay. This exclusive tour is limited to 14 guests, and provides the rare opportunity to meet and talk to various Amish where they live and work. The three stops: Visit an Amish farm at milking time, go behind-the-scenes with an Amish craftsman, and then sit and chat with an Amish family right in their home.

In general a different tour which is designed to be personal and give you more insight into Amish lifestyle without being typical ‘touristy’

Recently whilst over enjoying a U.S.A trip from Ireland we toured around Pennsylvania , taking in various towns and cities from Philadelphia to stroudsburg and around the Lancaster county and city areas to name but a few . We checked TripAdvisor after picking up a flyer in our Lancaster city hotel and chose the Amish experience at Bird in town as a start . So anyway after looking around for a short time ,we decided to go on the bus tour out and about around the Lancaster county area . Our guide that day was a very pleasant , knowledgeable local man called Jay who I think he said has lived all of his life in the area. he clearly enjoys his job as he imparts as much of his knowledge in 1.5 hours without making it sound routine or monotonous . We liked it so much we came back next day for a buggy tour with Aaron and Jessica's buggy tours with 16 year old Linda in full control of the two beautiful horses , called bonnie and duchess I think if my memory serves me !!! her love of her culture,area,people and the horses was obvious and I will never forget it . I could not recommend the Amish experience in Bird in hand enough . Also a big thanks to the lovely lady who works in the gift shop who recommended the the town of lititz for a visit ,we went down checked it out and stayed the night and absolutely loved it .
