We reserved our tickets on line which saved us some money. Our tour guide was Daniel and he was very nice. We went to a dairy farm, a buggy maker and an in home visit. The son(Albert) at the dairy farm was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. He was 13 years old the middle child of seven with 6 sisters. At the buggy shop we were told how they made buggys. At Albert and Susie's they were very hospitable.Their 3 little daughters were very sweet and well behaved.

A visit to Lancaster, PA is interesting no matter how the time is spent, however, I consider the VIP tour the "icing on the cake". I went on the tour with my teenage daughter and her friend. At each of the three stops, we got to speak with the Amish. At our first stop we mainly spoke to a young girl who was absolutely delightful and happily answered our questions as she poured us some home made lemonade. At the next stop we sat in the living room of an elderly Amish couple who were more than happy to answer our many questions. At the final stop, we spoke with a couple who ran a dairy farm. Again, they were very obliging at answering our questions. DeAnna was an awesome tour guide. DeAnna explained that they visit a variety of different people (it's not always the same 3). She drove us around the town, explaining tons of interesting things about the Amish. I highly recommend the VIP tour.

Dear MarieHanover, Thank you for your wonderful review! The VIP tour is such an eye-opening and informative tour. And we are so lucky to work with some truly wonderful Amish families. They truly enjoy speaking with our/their guests and sharing their lives. We hope we'll see you again!

We have seen pictures and we have heard stories about the Amish way of living. However, we could't imagine how it really was until we took the Amish Experience Visit-In-Person Tour. I strongly recommend it and we would like to experience it again. The tour is divided in three activities and each one of them is equally touching. Our teenage son enjoyed the cow dairy experience the best, as it was done by a 14 year old boy, who was very sweet and my son could relate to him. My husband and I were very moved by visiting an Amish family in their home and having a conversation with them. How many times do we "the English" get that opportunity??!! Our family was Mike and Mary Fischer, and their two darling small daughters. Mike and Mary opened their heart to us and were very open about sharing their way of living. They mostly wanted to ask about our lives. We immediately felt warm feelings towards their candid and sweet ways. Our tour guide, Art, a retired school teacher, was funny and very knowledgeable. The drive in the comfortable van was so beautiful, going thru this pretty country side of the Amish, flanked by their manicured farms, silos, barns, and homes. Seeing them in their buggies or walking was a delight. Thank you for giving us this opportunity!!!!
