Anchorage Aurora Quest - Northern Lights Photo Tour

Overview
This is the longest-running northern lights photo tour in the Anchorage area. Highlighted by Iceland Air's Stopover magazine as one of Anchorage's "Hidden Hot Spots" in its Spring 2019 issue (page 64), this tour is designed to maximize fun and opportunity with the aurora borealis.

We provide a free 3-day forecast service that includes both the aurora borealis and weather forecast. This tour increases your chance of aurora viewing success by allowing you to reserve as many nights as you like [space available] and only finalizing payment 48 hours in advance under the Reserve Now & Pay Later system. We pick you up at your accommodations and take you on a nocturnal adventure to witness the magical lights rippling over snowy peaks and dancing across dark waters. It's a great option for business travelers to Alaska during August to early May. This tour accommodates serious photographers to sightseers. Photographic instruction and aurora portraits are provided for those who desire.

Amazing tour. Ben and Amber were great. They were very knowledgeable about the northern lights and the area. Plus, they give you a little photography lesson at the same time! Super helpful. I highly recommend.

We took this tour two nights in a row. Ben was knowledgeable and very considerate with every guest. He took us where we needed to be to see the lights with great care to show his skill and caring that everyone on the tour was completely satisfied. The lights were magnificent and the experience tremendous. Thank you for this glorious opportunity to see the very best show in the sky.

I am so glad to hear you enjoyed the tour so much, and that Ben took good care of you. I am equally happy you got a good northern lights show both nights!

Unfortunately my booking was cancelled as the moon and aura wasnā€™t in our favor. I wasnā€™t able to reschedule since my trip was ending. I gave average rate because the site was easy to use and I was contacted early enough to make other plans. Waiting for my refund to go through now.

I am sorry that your tour was cancelled, but we strongly believe in only proceeding with a tour if there is a chance of seeing the northern lights. For your tour night, there was a quiet aurora forecast (Kp1), a 90% illuminated moon, and overcast/cloudy conditions. As stated in our published policies, we do not proceed with a tour under those conditions. Both the weather and the northern lights are natural phenomena, and can be challenging to plan specific nights to see the aurora. If you come to Alaska again in the non-summer months, we encourage you to book a northern lights tour early during your visit so that you have a chance to reschedule if the weather does not cooperate.
