What To Expect
1
Horseshoe Bend
1 mile hike trail, which is both uphill and downhill. After that you'll get close enough from the edge, if you can Lol - that is about 1,000 feet down - to a rock formation in the Colorado River. Horseshoe Bend is the top attraction in both the Lake Powell and Page-AZ areas.Ā

Antelope Canyon
90min tour through the Antelope Canyon with a certified Navajo guide to see red sandstone walls with corkscrew formations, illuminated by sunlight coming down into the slots, which are simply breathtaking.Ā  This colorful canyon is famously long and narrow with a walkable corridor at the bottom of the canyon floor. It was formed by flash floods flowing into the cracks of the Navajo sandstone which was then eroded by wind. Daylight penetrating through the narrow opening at the top creates different kinds of reflected light and colors. Antelope is the most visited slot canyon in the Southwest, partly because it is easily accessible and by far the most publicized, and also since it is so gorgeous and stunning, with just the right combination of depth, width, length, rock color and ambient light that makes this area a popular location for photographers and tourists from all the world.Ā  Entrance fee 50.00

I was doubting at first when I booked this tour as not much review to read. But then when we joined the tour and meet Denny, young, energetic, and very friendly guy - we felt at ease. He came on time for pick up and deliver us back to the hotel safely. And when we reached Antelope Canyon - we were all amazed how beautiful it is. It's God's wonderful creation. It's a few hike but easy to reach and the caves are so beautiful. Horseshoe bend is also a few hike and wonderful rocks formation curved as horseshoe. I highly recommend this tour and request for Denny.

I had always wanted to visit Antelope Canyon since i first saw pics more than 30 yrs ago. I was looking a various tours from Vegas on the Viator website, and I had trouble trying to pick. I did not have enough information from the descriptions and why some listed this canyon or that canyon. I was looking for a small group tour to either the upper or lower Antelope canyon. I saw the Chat Now icon on the Viator website so I selected. I was answered promptly but the information I got was minimal. I mention in the listing there was not a place to select Upper or Lower Canyon and what was Canyon X. I could not find information online about what it was. In the Chat I was told that I could visit both upper and lower Canyons and do I want to book now. The price I was quoted and charged was $199. I agreed to that but i could not tell which tour I was signed up for other than Antelope Canyon/Horseshoe Bend. Not knowing how the tour proceeded for the upper or lower canyon, I was told in the online chat that I could visit both. Then on the tour, Marvin the tour guide said I could not, since there was a limited number of tickets for each tour. I did not even get a chance to pick which canyon to go to. I have a booking #1060359273 and confirmation # 1446478941 from the online chat. When I got the email it stated that the Antelope Canyon admission ticket was not included, when I clearly read online that it was included. I also read that the ticket was absolutely not refundable for any reason. The confirmation stated that the $50 admission ticket was extra. When on the tour, our tour guide Marvin said it was $65. Either I pay or I do not go. I clearly do not understand how you can charge for a tour of the sites and then not include the cost of admission. Are there actually people that go just for the bus ride and then do not see the canyon. Once I was on the tour, the sights were very good. The tour guide was very informative. He kept everyone on time. At the very start of the tour, a few people were late showing up, he waited 5 min extra for them but then left to keep the tour on time and get the 47 passenger tour bus rolling down the road. I was not given a chance to pick which canyon, i was just assigned to one. While visiting the canyon we were told if it rained, the tour would be canceled and we could come back in the future at no cost. Then while on the tour it did rain a bit where we were, but who knows there could have been a terrible downpour just upstream from where we were. Checking the weather radar before the tour started there was a thunder storm that passed right over the canyon that we were at. The view of the canyon was very stunning and picturesque. The guide at the canyon was very good and pointed out things we could see in the rocks, like a lion or a bear or a face. Once the tour was done we had to wait for the other people from finishing their tours at the other two canyons. Then we left for the long drive back with a short rest stop. We arrived back on time 14.5 hrs after we left with drivers James and John. I would really recommend seeing this incredible site, but beware of all the costs and what what sights the tours actually cover. I wished I had asked more questions about what my tour covered and did not cover.

I got picked up at my hotel with 2 other guests in a small van and we then went to another hotel and the driver put us on a larger coach like bus with other people. So random but ok. Our driver was nearly intelligible. I do not mean to be rude in any way but it was so hard to understand his directions on where to go which is important to not miss the bus back. He also randomly started showing us the conspiracy theory about folding the $20 bill to make it show the twin towers blowing upā€¦ā€¦ but provided us little other information about the areas we were actually visiting. Horseshoe bend was fine but overhyped. We visited Antelope Canyon X (even though I remember requesting either upper or lower for my trip). They had Navajo guides for that which were amazing. Warning it is a steep sandy slow downward that you also have to climb back up. Experience down there was unmatched though. Long ride there and minimal bathroom stops compared to other tours out here. No gift shops at either location. Lunch left a lot to be desired. And you do have to pay an additional $65 in cash when they pick you up in the morning despite paying almost $200 online for booking the trip.
