Arches National Park 4x4 Adventure from Moab

Overview
Hop into a Toyota Land Cruiser with your expert guide and head north from Moab to the backcountry entrance of Arches National Park and avoid the crowds.

Our first stop is to see dinosaur footprints. For millions of years this area was teeming with dinosaurs.

We pass Balanced Rock, one of the most iconic features of the Park, standing a staggering 128 feet. Landscape look familiar? Indiana Jones, and Thelma and Louise have scenes shot here.

The 4X4 trail into the backcounty climbs a short but steep rock wall passing sandstone fins, towering pinnacles and tall spires known as the Marching Men. We stop at Tower Arch for an optional hike.

As you travel along the track, hear informative commentary about the geology, wildlife and history of the park.

We make another stop at Eye of the Whale for an optional hike to a seldom visited slick rock playground named Herdina Park.

After exploring the backcountry we exit past the three gossips and Park Avenue before your guide returns you to Moab.

An expert guide will maneuver your 4WD past red rock highlights such as Marching Men, Tower Arch and Eye of the Whale. Experience these monuments and more up close and learn about the parkā€™s wildlife and history.
2
Mill Canyon Dinosaur Trail
This 5-hour tour even includes a stop to see fossilized dinosaur tracks, left behind millions of years ago when dinosaurs roamed the region.
3
Tower Arch
An optional hike to the awe-inspiring Tower Arch begins at the foot of the bluff, where the 4WD road ends. From here, the route is rocky and steep, though short. Tower Arch itself is very large with a 92-foot span and can be viewed from the trailhead for those opting out.

This tour included driving on the 4 wheel roads we could not otherwise visit as well as some short hikes to arches in that area. It was very good and very bumpy. Our guide Larry fit the tour to us very well. Highly recommend to really get to see the Park.

I loved the ride with Lolly through the beautiful Arches National Park in a Land Cruiser! She's a great driver and we felt very safe. In fact, we started out and she had a concern about the vehicle. She pulled over and called into the shop guys who quickly brought out a replacement vehicle. Lolly is experienced in the outdoors and very knowledgeable. It's a great way to see the highlights of the park and areas not accessed by the general public. She happily stopped for us to take pictures whenever we requested it. We spent time off-roading, as well as time on the main road through the park. Plenty of water available to keep us hydrated. I was glad I brought snacks. My 15 year old girl and 17 year old boy got a little bored after a couple of hours. Of course, some of that may be attributed to lack of cellular connectivity - ha! ha! And, we had a long day in the car the day before. All in all, they enjoyed the trip.

Booked the 4x4 jeep tour with my wife and 11 year old grandson and were extremely pleased with the half-day experience. You go in at a rear entrance so it is easy to avoid the crowds at the main entrance. Our driver and guide, Blake was very knowledgeable of the park's terrain, wildlife, and back roads. Our grandson was pleased to see the actual dinosaur tracks up close. In addition to the backroading, we were able to hike and climb near some of the arches. Some of the roads were rough but the bouncing around was minimal and Blake did a great job of navigating several of the narrow openings. Highly recommend for a family outing and the jeep is air conditioned for the heat. May want to consider the morning tour due to the heat.
