Arches National Park Back Country Adventure from Moab

Overview
The tour will head north on US 191 passing the entrance of Arches National Park which was designated as a National Monument before being changed to a National Park in 1971. Our special use permit allows us to enter the back door to Arches via Willow Springs Road. Along this backcountry route, you'll travel through the new area of the "Utah Raptor State Park". Here where Native Americans lived back in history for thousands of years you'll see dinosaur tracks and enjoy the views of the La Sal Mountains. The Park lies atop an underground salt bed that is responsible for the arches, spires, and sandstone fins. Several of the stops include Eye of the Whale(Backcountry), Balanced Rock(Pavement), Sand Dune Arch(Pavement), Delicate Arche Viewpoint(Pavement), and the Windows Section(Pavement). The trip length is approximately 4 hours duration. All vehicles are Jeep Rubicons which are enclosed and air-conditioned.

The trip we took last week 12th Sept 2016 far exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Chip, was fabulous and we appreciated his knowledge, his skilled driving off-road - very necessary skill set!! He gave us lots of opportunity to take pictures and provided info about plants as well as the beautiful Arches and other landscape we were going through. I highly recommend this tour for anyone of all ages. It really was fabulous! Thank you, Chip, for the fun, humour, and all the great memories!

Adrift Adventures is certainly a first class operator with hands on ownership. Charlie our guy was informative and personable. More than a roller coaster ride the tour of Arches Backcountry was an amazing way to see Arches in a way few people get to see it. A certain must for those who like to do things off the beaten path and avoid the crowds.
