We were looking for something to do for the morning and Argo Mill was the perfect morning trip from Denver for us. We took Route 6 up because of traffic on the holiday weekend and it was a beautifully scenic drive and I highly recommend it. Unfortunately, we were running a few minutes late, but we called ahead of time and they were super flexible in accommodating us for our 10 a.m. tour a little later. The tour was informative and our guide, Will, made it age-appropriate for our kids (4 and 7) and interesting for the adults (my husband, me, and my mother-in-law). He was super patient and knowledgable and you could tell he really loves his job and interacting with kids. We were the only people on the tour which made it really great and personalized. Will took the time to answer all of our questions and take us through all the details of the mill which was really interesting! We weren’t sure what to expect on this tour but I think we were all pleasantly surprised. The kids were looking forward to the panning for gold. It was a little tricky for my four-year-old, so we needed to help him, but my seven-year-old did great and felt accomplished afterward. All in all, it was a cute and informative experience and Will was really great!

This tour is a must! Make sure you get Will as a guide. The Mill is well preserved and the artifacts are amazing. So much to take in and look at! Any question you Will can answer, and he is so kind to the kiddos in the group. Had a blast!

The tour of the mine and tunnel was incredible. So much history and amazing that so much of the original mill is preserved today. Our tour guide - Will - was so knowledgeable and caring. We had a 95 year young grandmother that was on on tour and Will made sure she she was safe and comfortable on her way down the very steep stairs and through the mill. A lovely morning and we even got to pan for gold!
