ARGO Mill Tour

Overview

Experience the wonder of ingenuity, technology, and entrepreneurial spirit that is the Argo Mill & Tunnel with a guided walking tour. Situated in Historic Idaho Springs in the heart of Colorado Gold Country sits the Mighty Argo Mill and Tunnel, one of the most striking and prominent Heritage Landmarks in the American West. The Argo is a central character in the story of the Colorado gold rush and remains one of the largest, most well-preserved historic gold mills in the world.

Each professionally guided tour of the Argo Mill and Tunnel takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. A gold panning lesson and experience, which lasts about 20 minutes, is also included with every Argo Mill and Tunnel tour.

Tours: We offer guided tours on the hour every hour from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Reservations are not required.
Mercantile Gift Shop: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM everyday weather depending

Brandon was the perfect tour guide, super friendly and knowledgable! We got to see and learn all about the Argo Mill and it’s gold rush history followed by being taught how to gold pan! Really insightful and interesting tour and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Thank you Brandon!

Really fascinating information for a town so close to Denver that we all knew little about. Strong and well-informed tour guide (Josh?) was great. A bit disappointed in the 'tunnel' exploration that was only 100' long - kind of expected more there, but glad it was included anyway. tim
