ARGO Mill Tour

Overview

Experience the wonder of ingenuity, technology, and entrepreneurial spirit that is the Argo Mill & Tunnel with a guided walking tour. Situated in Historic Idaho Springs in the heart of Colorado Gold Country sits the Mighty Argo Mill and Tunnel, one of the most striking and prominent Heritage Landmarks in the American West. The Argo is a central character in the story of the Colorado gold rush and remains one of the largest, most well-preserved historic gold mills in the world.

Each professionally guided tour of the Argo Mill and Tunnel takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. A gold panning lesson and experience, which lasts about 20 minutes, is also included with every Argo Mill and Tunnel tour.

Tours: We offer guided tours on the hour every hour from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Reservations are not required.
Mercantile Gift Shop: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM everyday weather depending

My family and I took the tour this week and we had a blast. My 3 year old was able to walk the whole tour. You definitely can't take a stroller here. Our tour guide Erin was so animated and funny we enjoyed listening to her. Staff was accommodating when I accidentally made a mistake when booking. The panning of the gold was my favorite part it was so fun!

Great History Lesson!! Fascinating to learn the precision of the gold extracting process in the early 1900's! Nicolas was our tour guide, he was very patient with the questions from children in the group and answering the adults as well! The gold panning experience at the end of the tour was fun!
