Our party of three spent an enjoyable Sunday afternoon touring with Elsa and three others. The bikes were super, more like scooters as you didn't even really have to pedal if you didn't want to, and made taking the many hills a breeze. Elsa has a degree in cultural anthropology, and her knowledge and love of her city really added to the experience. We biked through leafy neighborhoods we would not have seen otherwise, taking in the fall color and gorgeous weather. A highlight was a trip up to the historic Grove Park Inn for a spectacular view and a brief walk through to see the interesting historical artifacts and local displays, including one on an annual gingerbread house contest they have there with photos of fantastic creations that entrants spend over 500 hours working on (they look nothing like any gingerbread house I've ever seen). Great way to get a little exercise, fresh air, and learn about a beautiful and interesting city.

Thanks so much Elizabeth! I love the photos that you shared! The mural on Coxe Avenue has quickly become a point of interest on our street and it was an excellent example of a project that we participated in to make our city more safe for pedestrians and cyclists while also adding some beauty to the block! Thanks for sharing the kind words about Ailsa. We are so happy to have her working with us and sharing her knowledge of Asheville with our guests! We are also excited to see the next round of gingerbread homes at the Omni Grove Park Inn coming up in a couple weeks. They always leave us amazed! Please come ride with us again the next time you come to Asheville! We promise there will be more adventures to come!
