Additional Info
  • Specialized infant seats are available
  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • The electric bikes will take all of the hard work out of your ride. We routinely have riders that span the spectrum of age and fitness. The main requirement is that you be coordinated and fit enough to balance a 55-pound bike. A training and practice session is provided at the start of each tour. For people that would like to go on the tour but are not able to balance a bike, it is possible to arrange a ride on the back of one of our stretch cargo bikes that will be driven by another person in your party.
  • Legally, you must be 16 years or older to operate an electric bike. Guides reserve the right to request proof of age of any rider. Riders should also be at least 5 feet tall to operate their own bike. Guests younger than 16 may ride as a passenger with an adult in their group on the back of one of our cargo bikes or in a child seat (for children ages 1-6 or up to 48.5 pounds).
  • Tours are subject to favorable weather conditions. If there is light rain in the forecast but none at the start of the tour, we will decide together at the time of the tour whether to ride. We will provide rain ponchos and rain covers for the storage bags on the bikes to protect your belongings. If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund.
  • Social distancing enforced throughout experience
  • Gear/equipment sanitised between use
  • Guides required to regularly wash hands
  • Contactless payments for gratuities and add-ons

We did the guided tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. So, the next day we came back and did a half day rental and biked around town on our own. It was a great way to see the town and experience the sights and shopping. Torin was a great guide and knowledgeable about the history of the city. Thanks for helping make our visit to Asheville a great one.

Spent a great afternoon seeing Asheville from a different perspective. Called on a Tuesday morning hoping to take the 1pm tour. Worked out great as it was just my wife and I and the owner and guide Torin. Had a short bit of training on using the electric bikes and then off we went. You really couldn’t do it without the electric assist. Good tour with tons of local knowledge, history and lore. Many dining and brewery suggestions made along the way. If you are visiting Asheville for a few days do this tour early on to get familiar with the area. Well worth it.

We really enjoyed our Flying Bike Tour of Asheville. I would consider it a must do. I recommend doing it early in the day. Our tour was at 9am so there wasn’t mush foot or car traffic to compete with. Our guide Richie was great. It was only my wife and I on the tour. The electric bike was pretty easy to use and made the hills a breeze to climb. Some some lessons to learn first because it does have some power. We learned a lot about Asheville architecture and history. Which was a great way to start our visit to the city. Made walking around more interesting the rest of our stay. We peddled from town, to the Greenway and end up at the Park Grove Inn Northeast of town. A spectacular view over looking the the city and mountains. Then headed back downtown to learn a little. More. Richie was full of local knowledge and history. Loved it! View from Park Grove Inn attached.
