Additional Info
  • Specialized infant seats are available
  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • The electric bikes will take all of the hard work out of your ride. We routinely have riders that span the spectrum of age and fitness. The main requirement is that you be coordinated and fit enough to balance a 55-pound bike. A training and practice session is provided at the start of each tour. For people that would like to go on the tour but are not able to balance a bike, it is possible to arrange a ride on the back of one of our stretch cargo bikes that will be driven by another person in your party.
  • Legally, you must be 16 years or older to operate an electric bike. Guides reserve the right to request proof of age of any rider. Riders should also be at least 5 feet tall to operate their own bike. Guests younger than 16 may ride as a passenger with an adult in their group on the back of one of our cargo bikes or in a child seat (for children ages 1-6 or up to 48.5 pounds).
  • Tours are subject to favorable weather conditions. If there is light rain in the forecast but none at the start of the tour, we will decide together at the time of the tour whether to ride. We will provide rain ponchos and rain covers for the storage bags on the bikes to protect your belongings. If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund.
  • Social distancing enforced throughout experience
  • Gear/equipment sanitised between use
  • Guides required to regularly wash hands
  • Contactless payments for gratuities and add-ons

My husband and I had never been to Asheville, and this electric bike tour was a great way to take in the sites. Asheville is somewhat hilly, so the pedal assist made biking a breeze. These bikes do for biking what moving sidewalks do for walking. Highly recommend.

My husband talked me into doing this tour and it was a blast! We covered almost 10 miles and saw amazing scenery and several historical sights. The basilica was beautiful and visiting the Grover Park Inn was also a high point. The bikes are easy to operate and tons of fun. Our guide, Jessie, was informative, friendly and professional. Highly recommend this event!

On our last day in Asheville, we booked a tour with The Flying Bike. We have never experienced riding an electric bike but Richie our patient guide gave our group plenty of instructions and off we went ! Richie's knowledge of the points of interest was amazing, down to the tiniest detail. Unfortunately, my husband forgot to set his pedal assist to zero when he braked and he hit the concrete and fractured his nose. Thankfully, Richie summoned the EMT's located across the street and they provided excellent care. We decided to drive to the ER rather than the ambulance which arrived in a few minutes. We are so thankful for Richie's help during this crises. He even rode his bike to our car parked at the start of the tour and brought it to us. Torin, the owner sent such a thoughtful email explaining how sorry he was that this accident happened. Also, he refunded our money which is unheard of. We are so grateful to him for doing this. What a fantastic company and Torin and Richie true professionals who truly care about their customers.
