Guests will discover an 18,000-year-old, 25-acre fringing coral reef, which boasts a vibrant ecosystem. Passengers view coral formations and tropical fish.Headset providing narrations in Japanese, Korean, Mandarin and Spanish are available upon request at no additional cost. Our escorts will assist you to our shuttle vessel from our Atlantis office which will take you out to the submarine.

Wonderful tour with unique views of the reef off Kona. Down to ~110 feet, including two shipwrecks and a healthy reef with literally thousands of fish swimming around you. We were lucky enough to even see two white tip reef sharks. Amazing experience in family friendly and safe setting.

Want to do more underwater exploration, but you aren’t into scuba diving? Consider taking a submarine undersea expedition. We were on the Atlantis Adventures Submarine Adventure, a 48-passenger sub that descends 100 feet below the surface and provides a cool, close up cruise amidst schools of beautiful fish. Our family was a little apprehensive when we first began descending into the water, but the fun and informative instructions we received from the Atlantis crew quickly put us at ease. The marine life off the pier in Kona often includes moray eels, lobsters, sea turtles, and occasionally a reef shark. Each guest has their own porthole window, where they can peer out and view the natural, eco-friendly coral reefs for the 45-minute underwater journey. Our view from the sub was excellent, almost like we were in the water. We were intrigued by the amount and diversity of the fish and other sea creatures we saw, plus a wreckage that we got a close-up view. Very cool!! Safe, fun and informative underwater journey that we all agreed would be worth doing again.
