This was an awesome tour, and quite an adrenaline rush while riding trough the this mountainous area on ATVs. The tour guides are extremely helpful in training riders and making sure they are safe. The views are amazing and the salt mines are beyond anything that you've ever seen before. It's definitely worth it. a few things to note: it's an hour drive to and from the Cusco square. There are additional fees for entrance to Moray: 80 soles, for Salt Flats: 10 soles. Lastly, you will see so many sights that you would love to be able to grab a photo of while riding the ATVs, however, because it's so fast-paced, it's hard to do so, and still be safe on the ATV. I recommend that guides allow for a few stops along the way.
ATV-ing was sooooo much fun. They picked us up at our hotel, on time, and early! My tour guide was Richard, who was awesome! He made sure everyone was comfortable driving the ATV, and constantly made sure the group was together and that no one was left behind. We went to the salt mines first, which was really cool, the drive on the ATV is gorgeous too. After the salt mines, you have a choice to either go to the Maras, which is the lake, or to the Moray, which cost an additional 70 sols for entrance. Our group ended up going to the lake, which was very nice. At the lake we had plenty of opportunities to take pictures. Richard was super nice and didn't mind taking millions of pictures of everyone. lol RICHARD, thank you for the amazing experience. You're our favorite ATV tour guide! :
I would not recommend this tour to anyone. It was one of the worst tours we did in Peru. To begin with we were overcharged. At the time of booking we had reserved for 3 people on double occupancy and it let us do that. But on the day of the tour when we called for a pick up, we were informed that we will have to pay in extra for the one person who would ride alone just because they did not have enough people in the group to accommodate one of us on double occupancy ATV. If this was the case they should have not allowed us to book an odd number for a double occupancy vehicle. And then to make it worse our tour guide wasn't good. He was in such a hurry, he did not let us see the place at all, we just reached sacred valley and were asked to start back in 5-7 min. No point of paying 70 soles/person for entry into the place because we hardly got to see. Even at the salt flats, we just stayed for a few min and were not allowed to go around the market to look for a good price for salt that we were looking to buy. There were other tour groups around and people were spending quite some time at these locations. I would recommend looking at alternative tours if you are really looking to see these places.
