I had logged onto Eventbrite on a whim. My friend and I were looking for something interesting and different to do in Austin, our adopted city. A walking tour of street art seemed the perfect thing for near perfect weather and a great way to familiarize ourselves with this part of town! Eileen and Douglas greeted us at the Capital Bakery meeting point and soon we were met by our tour mates- a friendly group of interests, ages and backgrounds. Immediately we felt at ease and in extremely capable/knowledgeable hands of Our guides. From street corner to thoroughfare we delved into artistic styles and medium. The history and variety of artists and their works was explained in such an interesting manner as we weaved our way through the east side. The walk was easy, though Iā€™m glad I wore comfy shoes as the pavement varies - we did walk a mile or two. I highly recommend the tour and guides. You will see art, get some history, and meet others!

We booked a private street art tour with Eileen, which was both exceeded expectations and was a great way to see a part of the city we would otherwise not view. Eileen was passionate about the subject, artists and their styles and provided lots of history and interesting facts. She sent us artists names, email links & Instagram handles after the walk so we did not have to take photos of every piece, but could spend the time actually immersing ourselves in the art.

My husband and I live in Austin but we're always looking for ways to learn about our city. The tour showed a great variety of types of art and connected it to the history of Austin. The tour guides were super helpful and friendly. One of my favorite "added touches" was that they gave us a handout at the end that had the names/instragram handles of all the artists so we could tag them in any pictures and follow as needed. I like this a lot because (1) it allowed me to give credit where credit was due and (2) took the pressure off trying to get the perfect shot so we can just enjoy and learn.
