All of our guides have individual and unique ties to the Amish community and have always enjoyed showing off the “true” Lancaster County. This rich, immersive experience is personally designed to give you a rare window into the authentic Amish culture. Every meal is an amazing experience!

* The PA Department of Agriculture requires us to inform you in advance that these meals are prepared in private homes, which are not licensed or inspected.

What To Expect

Amish Country

We will meet in Lancaster and drive through the Amish countryside learning about the Amish culture with a narrated tour of a few stops -

1719 Museum (formerly 1719 Hans Herr House & Museum)

Narrated driving tour passing by the oldest settlement in Lancaster, a visit to one of our 29 historic covered bridges, and background of Amish history and culture on the way to our host family.

Lydia, our host opened her beautiful home for a lovely luncheon as well as a very open and candid conversation about the Amish way of life. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is curious about their ways and beliefs. Truly inspiring.

Booked this tour last minute on the last day of my honeymoon. Our guide was very pleasant and incredibly knowledgeable about the history of PA and how the Amish came to settle there. We did the lunch tour and our hostess, Lydia, made the most delicious meal, she was so sweet and welcoming! After the lunch she showed us around her property. She had 11 8 week old Labrador puppies for sale and my husband and fell in love with one of them. After the tour we drove back to her house to purchase the puppy! What a wonderful way to end our week long honeymoon and as we walked away from the beautiful Amish home with an adorable puppy, Lydia gave us Gods blessing for a long and happy marriage. I highly recommend this tour of any other tour to visit and explore the Amish country and meet the amish personally and learn a little bit about their way of life.

Me and my husband loved it; and our hostess, Lydia, was very gracious; and the meal was wonderful; we had baked chicken, meatloaf, potatoes, green/wax beans, pickled beets & vegetables and an apple crumb for dessert; and her home was beautiful; after visiting the area, I have a new respect for the Amish; they lead a simple life and care about each other; take care of their own; a peaceful life; which I think is how God intended; we’re the ones that messed it up
